Shenseea & Masicka’s ‘Hit & Run’ Becomes the Fastest Dancehall Music Video to Reach 2 Million Views on YouTube In 2024

The music video for “Hit & Run” by Shenseea and Masicka has replaced 450’s “What If” to claim the No. 1 spot on YouTube in Jamaica for two days in a row. “Hit & Run” becomes the fasted song by a Jamaican to hit 2 million views on YouTube in 2024, doing so in 48 hours.

It is among the fastest dancehall songs to reach the milestone following Sean Paul’s No Lie featuring Dua Lipa which had 1,860,170 views in a day on January 14, 2017.

The song has hit No. 1 on six counties on Apple Music across the Caribbean. The song is currently at the Zenith in:

    • Antigua and Barbuda
    • Belize
    • Cayman Islands
    • Jamaica
    • Seychelles
    • St. Vincent and The Grenadines

 

Elsewhere the Stephen Di Genius produced song is No. 1 on iTunes in Grenada, No. 1 in Jamaica on Shazam and Deezer Daily charts

Other positions held by the song around the world include on Apple Music, it has reached #2 in Dominica, #2 in Grenada, #3 in the British Virgin Islands, #3 in Guyana, #3 in Saint Kitts and Nevis, #4 in St. Lucia, #5 in Anguilla, and #5 in Turks and Caicos. Other rankings on Apple Music include #32 in Bermuda, #35 in Barbados, #42 in Trinidad and Tobago, #60 in Gambia, #63 in The Bahamas, and #79 in the Solomon Islands. On YouTube, the song achieved #1 in Jamaica, #2 in Belize, and #4 in Guyana.

The song which marks Shenseea’s return to her dancehall roots sours to #4 in Antigua and Barbuda on iTunes, #16 in Saint Kitts and Nevis, #18 in Bermuda, #154 in Canada, and #189 in the United Kingdom. On Shazam charts around the world it is ranking #26 in Uganda, #46 in Kenya, #60 in Ghana, and #128 in Zambia.

Masicka’s “Generation Of Kings” released December 8, 2023 remains at No. 1 on Apple Music Jamaica for a record 55 consecutive days, while Shenseea’s “Alpha,” released March 11, 2022 moves down 5 spots to No. 28 on Apple Music albums chart Jamaica.
