Shenseea Professes Love For Kanye, Performs On Jimmy Kimmel Live

Dancehall princess turned pop music hopeful Shenseea has been making the media rounds to build anticipation for her album Alpha. Last night (March 3) she took her talents to the Jimmy Kimmel show in what was her first late night Tv performance in the US.

The Rich Immigrants/Interscope artist performed her latest single “Deserve It” which premiered the same day alongside two dancers and even did a little dancing herself.

Known for dancehall hits, Lodi, Trick’a Treat, the Jiggle Jiggle Boss told Zane Lowe of Apple Music in another promo interview that her upcoming album will see her experimenting with new sounds.

“This album is me experimenting. So yes, there’s a vibe like this that you’ve never heard, but there are also other songs that you’ve never heard a vibe like that either..“ she said. “So I feel like what I’m doing now with this album is like, I’m going to put it out there and then I’m going to see what people reaction. If they react to everything, then trust me, they beat.”

Meanwhile the 25 year old Jamaican professed her love for Kanye West in an interview on Power 106’s Lift Off Show in Los Angeles with Just Incredible and Dj Sourmilk.

“I love Kanye, you know just seeing him on social media and then being around him is totally different, as with everybody but his is really in a good way.” she said. “He is definitely a true living inspiration, like I love Kanye. The love that he shows me, the way that he embraces me, pull me in and make me feel like yo I am a part of the team, I love that. He treats me like real family”

 

The Lick singer also spoke about her Grammy nods as well as what it has been like working with Megan Thee Stallion and Kanye West.

Shenseea who has consistently claimed she was nominated for four grammy awards, doubled down during the interview when asked how does it feel to be nominated for four Grammy awards.

The hosts asked her “Now we are hearing in 2022, 4 grammy noms, what does that feel like to hear people say that?”

To which she said, “It feels different, honestly, because I didn’t see it coming just yet especially because my album is not yet released, it’s kind of hard to believe, but I have still been been putting in the work from ever since so now it’s showing.”

The R U That singer is indeed nominated for Album Of The Year by virtue of her two contributions (Pure Souls and Ok Ok Pt. 2) on Kanye West’s Donda album, due to the Grammys recent announcement that all persons credited on an album for Album Of The Year will get an award.

Our Affiliates, Dancehall Mag reported that although Donda is also nominated for Best Rap Album she does not receive a nod for her contributions in that category per Grammy Rules. Which means the same applies for her other features on Silver Tongue Devil on Masego’s Studying Abroad: Extended EP, which is nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album and for Tiny on Major Lazer’s Music Is The Weapon (Reloaded) which is nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album.

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3, 2022.
