Shenseea’s sophomore album ‘Never Gets Late Here’ has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify. The milestones extend her lead as the most streamed dancehall album released in 2024.

Released via Rich Immigrants/ Interscope Records, it picked up 52 million album streams during its first year with the track being  ‘Hit & Run” featuring Masicka and Di Genius, which has now surpassed 52 million single streams on Spotify.

It marks Shenseea’s second album to reach the milestone, following her debut project “Alpha” also released under Rich Immigrants/ Interscope Records.

‘Never Gets Late Here’ debut at No. 4 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart after selling just under 2000 units during its first week of release. It was also nominated for Best Reggae Album at the 2025 Grammy awards.

Never Gets Late Here released on May 24, 2024, runs just under 36 minutes and features dancehall and reggae with R&B, pop, hip-hop, Afrobeats, and Latin trap influences.

The album executive produced by London On The Track, also features several prominent guest artists, including Coi Leray, Masicka, Wizkid, Anitta, as well as contributions from producers and artists such as Rvssian and Di Genius. Several singles were released ahead of and alongside the album, including “Hit & Run,” “Die For You,” “Neva Neva,” “Flava,” and “Work Me Out.”

Following its release, Shenseea officially parted ways with Interscope Records in November of 2024, as first reported by World Music Views. The 28-year-old singer first signed with the major label in 2019 through a partnership with Rvssian’s Rich Immigrants Records, following the breakout success of her hit single “Loodi” featuring Vybz Kartel.

Her debut major-label release, “Blessed” featuring Tyga, became a commercial success. The track earned Gold certification in Canada for surpassing 40,000 units in combined sales and streams and charted on the Rhythmic Audience and Airplay charts, solidifying her status as an emerging global force.

The two-time Grammy-nominated artist recently fueled speculation with a series of cryptic posts on social media, including the message, “Stop blocking your blessings by holding on to people you know you should let go.” She later added, “I’m so at peace with everything these days… It is what it is type energy.” Observers also noted that her social media bio, which previously listed her label affiliations, now displays only updated booking information.

Over the past decade, Shenseea has stood out as the only female Jamaican artist to release two albums under a major label. As she enters this new chapter, sources suggest she is already in advanced discussions for a new recording deal as she continues her pursuit of long-term international success.
