Dancehall princess Shenseea will be releasing her second solo album, “Never Gets Late Here,” on May 24 via Rich Immigrants/Interscope Records. The album is led by three singles: “Hit & Run” featuring Masicka and Di Genius, which charted at #1 in Jamaica on Apple Music and YouTube, as well as “Die For You” and “Neva Neva.”
The 14-track album also features Brazilian star Anitta, as well as Platinum rapper Coi Leray, and Diamond selling Nigerian singer Wizkid.
“Never Gets Late Here” sees Shenseea singing with a signaled return to her reggae-dancehall roots while extending collaborations with world music singers.

Never Gets Late Here comes two years after Shensea’s debut album Alpha was released in 2022. It was the most consumed dancehall album of that year according to data provided by Luminate.
Alpha released on March 11, under Interscope/Rich Immigrants, amassed an impressive 60,000 equivalent album units in the US within the first year, according to data provided by Billboard sales tracker Luminate.
Luminate’s data encompasses various consumption metrics, including album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). In its debut week, “Alpha” sold a total of 4,900 units in the US, with 800 copies in pure album sales.
The album debuted at No. 2 on the Reggae Albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart.
The lead single “Blessed” featuring Tyga, produced by Rvssian achieved Gold certification in Canada, selling 40,000 units.
Songs like “Can’t Anymore,” produced by London on The Track, topped Apple Music charts in the Cayman Islands and Dominica.
Since then, the half Korean singer has collaborated with Fireboy DML & Chris Brown, for “Diana,” “Obsessed” with Calvin Harris featuring Charlie Puth and My Bad with The Chainsmokers.
Her single R U That featuring 21 Savage from her debut album was nominated at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards.
