Snoop Dogg Mourns His Mother Who Died On Sunday

Rapper Snoop Dogg is mourning the loss of his mother Beverly Tate who died on Sunday.

In June, the entertainer indicated that Tate was ill but did not specify the condition of his 70-year-old matriarch.

In a series of Instagram posts between Sunday and yesterday, Snoop Dogg, 50, hailed Tate for being an ‘Angel’.

“Thank you God for giving me an angel for a mother. TWMA,” he wrote under a photo of his mother clad in red while holding a bouquet.

In another post, he wrote, “Till.We.Meet.Again”

He went on to show gratitude to her for her contribution to his personal development.

“U taught me how to read and write, how to struggle and fight and all the facts of life. Now, you finally got ya wings mama. Godspeed,” Snoop added for his 65.2 million Instagram followers to see.

Since the news broke, multiple industry players have expressed sympathy for Snoop Dogg whose given name is Calvin Broadus Jr.

R&B singer Tyrese is one of the most recent, who took to Instagram to share encouraging words.

“Prayers! May God bless you and your family…So sorry you’re going through this King…Thank you mother for giving us one of the greats,” he commented.

Comedian and actor Marlon Wayans joined in by writing, “Big hugs Brody. I know the feeling. She is always with you. Prayers to you and your tribe.”

Meanwhile, dancehall artiste Mavado also extended well wishes.

“Fly high mama. Stay strong big bro,” he said.

Tate was an evangelist and published author who published works such as Real Love (2012) and Real Love II: The Story of an Extraordinary Woman (2014).

Snoop Dogg (formerly Snoop Lion) rose to prominence in 1992 after being a featured act on Dr. Dre’s single Deep Cover followed by Dre’s debut album— The Chronic.

He is popularly known for tracks like Young, Wild & Free (featuring Wiz Khalifa), California Gurls (featuring Katy Perry), Drop It Like It’s Hot and Sweat.
