Spice To Drop New Single ‘2085 Tea’ As Debut Album ’10’ Surpasses 300 Million Streams On Spotify

‘10,’ the debut album by Love & Hip Hop star Spice, has surpassed 300 million streams on Spotify. The album released via VP Records extends it lead as the most streamed dancehall album by a female artist on Spotify in history.

Executive produced by Shaggy, ’10’ debuted at No. 6 on the U.S. Billboard Reggae Albums Chart, with 1,447 sales and stream-equivalent units, according to Luminate (formerly MRC Data).

Released August 6, 2021, the album has sold more than 125,000 album equivalent units in streams and sales in the US according data provided exclusively to WMV by Luminate. Of that amount, 2000 are in pure sales.

The 15 track set is being driven by the lead single, “Guh Down Deh,” produced by Costi Ionita, featuring Shaggy and Sean Paul, which has surpassed 215 million streams on Spotify.

The song has surpassed 688,000 equivalent units combined in streams and sales in the US, according to data provided exclusively to World Music Views by Billboard sales tracker Luminate.

The Jay Will directed music video has surpassed 267 million views on YouTube since its premiere on May 1, 2021.

On Sunday (June 9) Spice played a snippet of her new song “2085 Tea,” the first single from her upcoming album, set for released this Friday June 14.

“If ya’ll ready for the tea, drop some tea cup, the song is called ‘2085 tea,’ so now you know why I was dressing like a old lady cause who gossip like granny,” Spice said during the instagram live.

Assuring her fans that she has been working on new music despite her absence, the Queen Of The Dancehall said, “I have been locked away in the studio, writing, meditating, focusing on my music and the direction I want to go.”

Spice last album Emancipated was released on August 26, 2022 in partnership with United Masters and sold 1500album equivalent units in the US in its first week including 1.1M streams and 700 copies according to data provided to World Music Views by Billboard sales trackers Luminate (formerly Neilson/MRC). 

She said for her third solo effort, she will be more in control creatively and will be dishing and sharing relatable experiences.  “I have similar experiences like all a unuh, this sone is me cleaning my closet, living my truth and being veery open, we have so much similarities me can’t want o share it with unuh.”
