Stefflon Don Opens Up About Nicki Minaj Conflict and Fallout With Jada Kingdom

British rap star Stefflon Don has opened up about her conflict with Nicki Minaj, explaining that it stemmed from her disapproval of a collaboration Nicki Minaj did with Migos, which featured Cardi B.

She elaborated in an interview with GRM Daily saying, “So she did the song with Cardi B, with the Migos, and then I think at the time when she did it, I just felt like her verse could be harder because she was on it with Cardi B. I’m not gonna lie, I love Cardi B and I love Nicki, but I was rooting for Nicki because she has been in the game so long. I was like, ‘kill Cardi B’ in a friendly way because we are competitive. My problem is I expressed that, but I was coming as a fan, not understanding that I am Stefflon Don. If I say anything, it is mad.”

In 2018, the Pretty Girl singer commented on The Shade Room regarding Minaj’s behavior online saying,”@Nickiminaj ur a big grown woman talking about beating someone’s head in???? QUEEN???? I’m disappointed in you so many people look up to you show us better.”

She also responded to Minaj’s fans who attacked her online saying,”Do i look like a puppet Bitches wanna act like they 10 n yes i will say something about it,” she wrote. “YES i said i am DISSAPONTED in her yyyy because the gal old enough to be someones grandmother. Got something coming for these dutty GARBS i mean Barbs soon.”

The Hurting Me artist now explains the issue the in hindsight she is to be blamed for not knowing the strength of her voice saying, “Then her(Nicki’s) fans started coming for me on Twitter, and when they started coming for me, I was arguing and defending myself and bringing her name into it. It wasn’t really about that. So it was my bad for putting her name in it because they kept saying Nicki is this and that, and you ain’t shit.”

Further reflecting on the situation, she added, “So yeah, it was just that. I didn’t even know it would get that big, but again, not really knowing who you are at times.”

When asked if she picked Cardi B’s side in the ongoing beef with Minaj, Stefflon Don clarified, “No, I don’t think people should look at it like that.”

Regarding her recent clash with Jada Kingdom, Stefflon Don says she wishes Jada the best but feels there is nothing to make up.

Six months ago Jada Kingdom confronted Stefflon Don online over lyrics in a teaser for Stefflon Don’s song “Don Cullinan,” which led fans to speculate about potential targets, including Jada Kingdom. Jada addressed Stefflon Don on Instagram, questioning if the diss was aimed at her or Stefflon’s former manager.

“At the beginning, it was a bit like, ‘Why are you sending for me?’ because, number one, you have my number,” Stefflon recalled. “It was the right day, and my engineer was in the studio. We used to be cool. I wasn’t even with him; she is selling, and he is buying—what’s the problem?”

The confrontation intensified with a war of words between the two with Jada accusing Stefflon of cowardice while also acknowledging her success.  Stefflon had previously posted cryptic messages about a former manager amid rumors involving Jada and Burna Boy which Jada later admitted in one of the clash songs.

After three rounds of clash with six songs going back to back, Stefflon says she does not care the Jada had an affair with her former beau Burna Boy.

“Of course, I didn’t care. We were never friends. It’s not like she was my homegirl. We linked once or twice,” she admits.

When the GRM CEO asked her ambiguously if there was any possibility of rekindling, thinking he meant her relationship with Burna Boy, Stefflon Don brandished a huge smile and said, “You are funny. I don’t know; I don’t know.” Once he indicated that he was talking about her and Jada, she then changed the smile to a straight face and asserted, “There is nothing to rekindle,” adding that the root of their beef may have been over music. “You know what it was. We stopped talking because she asked me to jump on a tune, and I took long anyway. The producer wanted me on her song as well, and I took long, and I sent her my fee. Sometimes I am all over the place.”

Following the clash, Jada earned her first number one song when “What’s Up (Big Buddy)” produced by Rvssian climbed to the top of Apple Music Jamaica. Stefflon Don concluded, “I wish her all the best in her career. I feel like she is a dope artist. It’s really not that deep.”
