Stefflon Don’s “Dilemma,” featuring Sidhu Moose Wala, GuiltyBeatz, and Steel Banglez, has set a new record for the highest-streaming dancehall song lead by a female artist within the first 24 hours of its release.
The song earned 2.3 million views globally on its release day, June 24, and climbed to No. 5 and No. 28 on the India and UK iTunes charts within the first 24 hours.
“Dilemma” is currently the 8th most streamed song worldwide on YouTube in the past 24 hours. The song climbs to No. 1 on the Canadian YouTube Charts on June 26, 2024.
Over the years, other leading songs and features by dancehall artists have also racked up high numbers on YouTube shortly after their release.
Sean Paul’s “No Lie,” featuring Dua Lipa, released on January 10, 2017, earned its highest 24-hour streams of 1,860,170 four days later on January 14, 2017. His collaboration with Clean Bandit and Ann Marie, “Rockabye,” released on October 21, 2016, garnered 7,937,034 views in one day on April 1, 2017.
Sean Paul’s other top streaming feature, “Cheap Thrills” by Sia, released on February 2, 2011, earned its highest daily streams of 4,295,973 on May 14, 2016. It has now surpassed 1,879,567,056 views and is expected to reach 2 billion views on November 25, 2025.
Shenseea’s “Hit & Run,” released on January 1 this year, is currently the highest single-day streaming song by a female dancehall artist in 2024, earning 3,311,815 views a month after its release on February 2. The music video has now surpassed 58,342,863 views on YouTube and is expected to hit 100,000,000 streams by October 28, 2024.
In the past 24 hours, YouTube’s top list is lead by “The Spirit of Sarfira – Maar Udi” by Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, G.V. Prakash, and Manoj Muntashir, earning 5,519,788 views.
At No. 2 is K-Pop sensation Red Velvet’s “Cosmic,” which gained 4,256,895 views, followed by TWS’s “내가 S면 넌 나의 N이 되어줘” at No. 3 with 3,514,083 views.
Snow Man’s “BREAKOUT” dropped two spots to No. 4 but still managed 3,105,218 views in the last 24 hours.
At No. 5 is KAROL G’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” adding another 2,970,842 views and becoming a favorite among Latin music fans.
Entering at No. 6 is “Ae Dil Zara – Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha” by Ajay, Tabu, Shantanu, Saiee, Sunidhi, Jubin, MM Kreem, and Manoj M, with 2,937,761 views within its first 24 hours.
BABYMONSTER’s “Like That” exclusive performance music video is at No. 7 with 2,618,057 views.
Rounding out the top ten are Crazy Frog’s “Axel F” (Official Video) at No. 9 with 1,813,381 views and FloyyMenor and Cris MJ’s “Gata Only” with 1,698,701 views.
