Stephen ‘Di Genius’ McGregor Celebrates Breland’s ‘Cross Country’ Album Going Gold

Grammy winning Producer Stephen ‘Di Genius’ Mcgregor is in a jubilant mood as he celebrates New Jersey artist Breland’s Gold certification for his debut album “Cross Country”. The country music project was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association Of America on October 20, 2023 for sales exceeding 500,000 in the U.S.

The dancehall producer posted on his Instagram, “First time going Gold in the Country Music genre if you know what we know, we got a lottttt more of these on the way
Much love to the gang!”

 

 

“Cross Country” was released via Bad Realm Records and Atlantic Records on September 9, 2022 with collaborations from artists like Keith Urban, Mickey Guyton, Thomas Rhett, Ingrid Andress, and Lady A.

In celebration of the album’s one-year anniversary, an extended edition was launched on September 15, 2023, featuring an additional six tracks.

The track produced by Stephen is titled “Growing Pains” which was not released as a single but Breland performed the song in London last year October.

The album’s title track and lead single, “Cross Country,” was unveiled on February 26, 2021, accompanied by a music video. A revised version, featuring Mickey Guyton, followed just three weeks later on March 19, 2021. The Mickey Guyton version ultimately made its way onto the album, replacing the original.

“Throw It Back,” featuring Keith Urban, was the second single to hit airwaves on June 4, 2021. Breland and Urban had previously collaborated on “Out the Cage,” a track from Urban’s 2020 album, “The Speed of Now Part 1.”

On March 7, 2022, the third single, “Praise the Lord,” featuring Thomas Rhett, was released. It made its debut at number 100 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album’s fourth single, “Natural,” was released on June 14, 2022.

The fifth single from the nine track album, “Told You I Could Drink,” featuring Lady A, saw the light of day on August 5, 2022 coinciding with the album’s release on September 9, 2022, the music video for “For What It’s Worth” was also launched, becoming Breland’s first single to impact country radio on October 17, 2022.
