President of the California based reggae label Adam Gross told WMV on Tuesday evening that the main reason why Stick Figure and Woodruff has managed to edge out all their reggae peers for five years is consistency.

“For the past 17 years Stick has released music consistently that fits a cohesive vibe. He has focused on improving as a producer with every album, so that each is sonically better than the previous, staying true to the sound that his fans have come to expect, while always maturing and growing,” he said.

Adam says, a touring strategy has also helped to grow his community of supporters.

“After releasing a bunch of music independently for a number of years, for the past decade Stick has toured consistently. The band went on tours as support for other acts, as well as building up headlining history and festival plays. The fan base is a community and family vibe. The music helps people get through tough times, and the fans themselves are the biggest marketers of the music. Scott has never chased chart success or numbers, but rather focused on creating music that he and his fans love. Through staying true to himself and working hard and being consistent, the chart success has followed,” Adam explains.
