Legendary musician Sting and Dancehall icon Shaggy are set to appear tonight (March 12) on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC, giving late-night audiences a glimpse into their latest collaboration connected to the musical The Last Ship.

The pair last appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in March 2025 to perform their collaborative single, “Til A Mawnin”.

Sting and Shaggy are expected to discuss the musical, its themes rooted in shipbuilding communities, and the unique partnership that has brought fresh energy to the production.

They have already performed at the lijk Theater Carré in Amsterdam and had a run from February 18- March 8 at La Seine Musicale in France.

Shaggy is set to join Sting for the Australian-exclusive 2026 season, performing at Brisbane’s Glasshouse Theatre from April 9 to May 3, 2026. He will appear in the role of the Wallsend ferryman, performing alongside Sting and a cast of 48 performers, musicians, and choristers.

Shaggy said, “I’m honoured to join Sting onstage in Brisbane and am especially grateful to help bring a story so personal to him to life.”

Born Orville Richard Burrell, Shaggy rose from Jamaican and New York’s dancehall scene to become one of the most successful Jamaican artist in history. A former U.S. Marine, he achieved global success with songs like “Oh Carolina,” “Boombastic,” and “It Wasn’t Me” featuring RikRok. The two-time Grammy Award winner’s new album Lottery is scheduled for release in May via VP Records and Ranch Entertainment. The lead single “Looking Good” with Robin Thicke is set for released on Friday.

QPAC Chief Executive Rachel Healy highlighted the significance of his casting, saying, “To witness two close friends bring Sting’s own story to life is a rare and unmissable experience.”

Inspired by Sting’s childhood in Wallsend, England, The Last Ship tells the story of a shipbuilding community facing the closure of its shipyard, the center of its identity. Sting stars as foreman Jackie White in the production, which he wrote and composed, drawing from his personal experiences and musical roots.

The musical will make its southern hemisphere debut with 29 performances during its limited Brisbane run. The original Broadway production previously earned two Tony Award nominations, including Best Original Score and Best Orchestrations. Tickets for the Brisbane season are now available.
