Sting Announces ‘STING 3.0’ North American Tour

Sting is set to embark on an electrifying journey across North America with his ‘STING 3.0’ Tour, presented by Cherrytree Music Company & Live Nation.  The announcement was made on Monday March 11, 2024with the first date slated on September 17th, 2024, at the Fillmore Detroit in Detroit, Michigan.

The release stated that the 17 time Grammy Award winning musician will be joined on stage by virtuoso guitarist and longtime collaborator, Dominic Miller, and dynamic drummer Chris Maas (Mumford & Sons, Maggie Rogers).

Sting will treat audiences to two back-to-back nights of sensational performances. The tour will then make its way to Toronto, Ontario, with shows at Massey Hall on September 20th and 21st, offering Canadian fans a chance to witness Sting’s musical mastery.

Continuing the journey, Sting will grace the stage at The Met in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on September 30th and October 1st, before heading to the iconic MGM Music Hall @ Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 4th. The tour will then make a stop at the historic Brooklyn Paramount in Brooklyn, New York, for three nights from October 7th to October 10th, followed by a performance at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York, on October 12th.

Fans in Washington, DC, will have the opportunity to experience Sting’s magic at the MGM National Harbour on October 15th, before the tour moves south to Fillmore Miami Beach in Miami, Florida, on October 20th. Sting will then captivate audiences at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre (CEPAC) in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 22nd, before heading to the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, Illinois, for two nights on October 28th and 29th.

Wrapping up the North American leg of the tour, Sting 3.0 will make its way to the West Coast, with performances at The Masonic in San Francisco, California, on November 6th and 7th. The tour will culminate with two final nights at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, California, on November 12th and 13th, promising an epic finale to an extraordinary musical journey.

Sting, born Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, is known for his work as the frontman, songwriter, and bassist for the new wave band The Police from 1977 to 1986. He embarked on a successful solo career in 1985, blending various musical genres such as rock, jazz, reggae, classical, new-age, and worldbeat.

Throughout his career, the 72 year old has garnered numerous accolades, including 17 Grammy Awards, multiple Brit Awards, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, and recognition from institutions like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He has received honors such as the Ivor Novello Award for Lifetime Achievement and a CBE from Queen Elizabeth II for his contributions to music.

Sting’s influence extends beyond his solo work and The Police, as he has collaborated with various artists and introduced genres like raï to Western audiences. Notably, his collaboration album with Jamaican musician Shaggy, “44/876,” won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 2019.

With over 100 million records sold both as a solo artist and with The Police, Sting is recognized as one of the world’s best-selling music artists. He has been ranked among the greatest living songwriters by Paste magazine and VH1, and he continues to be celebrated for his musical contributions.
