Tamar Braxton made headlines at ComplexCon 2025 after showing up to support her brother-in-law Birdman during the much-hyped Cash Money vs No Limit Verzuz showdown — notably without her sister, Toni Braxton, by her side.

Birdman and Toni’s relationship has been a rollercoaster since they began dating in 2016, with the pair reportedly secretly tying the knot in 2024. Their marriage was briefly clouded by a divorce filing just two weeks later, though the couple reconciled and have remained together since. Toni even flaunted her massive diamond ring on Instagram in August to mark their first wedding anniversary.

While Toni couldn’t attend the event, Tamar told fans she decided to “hold it down for her and my brother,” showing up in full support of Birdman’s performance. In viral clips circulating online, Birdman was later seen calling Toni after the Verzuz battle — a sweet gesture that quickly melted fans’ hearts.

The Verzuz event marked a historic celebration of New Orleans hip-hop, as Cash Money and No Limit shared the stage with cameos from legends including Snoop Dogg, who joined Master P to perform “Down for My N****z.”

However, Birdman’s night wasn’t all peace and nostalgia. During his set, the Cash Money mogul took a jab at former Hot Boy member Turk, continuing their long-standing feud. “Shout out to Turk, you a lil btch mane, but we gone fck witchu when we gone f*ck witchu,” Birdman quipped, before affirming Cash Money’s legacy:

“If you leave, we still gon’ multiply. Cash Money ain’t gon’ never die. As long as I’m alive — Cash Money will never die.”

Despite the controversy, Birdman’s Verzuz appearance doubled as a victory lap for the Cash Money empire — and with Tamar stepping in for Toni, the Braxton family ties were well represented on stage.

ComplexCon 2025 continues through Sunday with more performances and panels celebrating music, fashion, and culture.
