Tem’s debut album Born In The Wild is No. 1 in 22 countries on Apple Music just two days after its release. The album is charting in over 90 countries and ‘Born in the Wild’ accumulates 1.03 Million First-Day streams on Spotify. Tems also breaks the record for biggest streaming day for a female Nigerian artist in Spotify history with 8.028 million on Friday.
The lead track “Love Me Je Je” spends a fourth week at No. 1 on the UK Afrobeats singles chart, knocking Tyla’s Jump (feat. Gunna and Skillibeng) to No. 2 for as many weeks. Jump previously spent seven weeks at the top. it is Skillibeng and Gunna’s longest running UK Afrobeats song.
In Jamaica, Dancehall newcomer Bayka earns his first No. 1 on Apple Music Albums Chart with his “Mob Ties” mixtape. The 13 track project released by Out Deh Records was released on June 7, 2024 and is currently no. 1 no Jamaica and The Cayman Islands.
The album also charts in 10 other Caribbean countries as well as Finland and Seychelles. Tracks on the album 1086 featuring Najeeri is charting at No. 5 in Jamaica, 26 in The Cayman Islands and 67 in Antigua and Barbuda. You Alone and Gracias are also charting in several countries.
In 2022, the trap dancehall artist recorded an unreleased song with top selling British rock band Coldplay and the group posted Bayka’s “She Like It” on a list of their favorite songs while they were visiting the Island.
