American rapper/model Rubi Rose has teamed up with Jamaican Dancehall artist The 9ine for their latest single, “Obsessed With Me” and the song’s music video directed by Shane Creative picked up 400,000 views on YouTube within six days of its October 8 released. It is now trending at No. 23 on YouTube and peaks at No. 1 on the U.S. Reggae iTunes music video chart on Saturday October 14, 2023.
The new artists showcases their affection for one another amidst stunning Bahamian backdrops, including The Margaritaville Beach Resort and The Conch Pearl in Nassau.
With The 9ine crooning simple Drake like lyric over the Rvssian beat, “Every time we talk, you’re speaking sexually. It’s like you’re becoming obsessed with me,” and Rose dressed in a Jamaican T-Shirt and bikini bottom responding with sultry verses like, “I know you like it when I’m throwing it back. I got you moving like you don’t know how to act. I’m doing it right, you’re acting like a fan, I’m changing your life.”
The 19-year-old Jamaican sensation had previously teased the collaboration with Rubi Rose, revealing that this track would serve as the lead single on his upcoming 9-track EP. The connection was made possible through music producer Rvssian, who introduced 9ine and Rose at his Miami-based studio. According to 9ine, their energy clicked immediately, and the rest, as they say, is musical history.
