Paramount+ is set to release The French Montana Story: For Khadija on November 19, following its successful premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival last year. Directed by Mandon Lovett, the documentary tells the unlikely story of Moroccan-born, diamond-selling recording artist French Montana, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch.
The film originally executive produced by embattled music mogul P. Diddy and Drake focuses on the sacrifices made by French Montana’s single mother, Khadija, who raised her three young sons in the Bronx after being abandoned by their father and left with nothing. Against the backdrop of hardship and poverty, Khadija’s unwavering dedication to her family and faith in their future is a central theme in the documentary.
For Khadija showcases the family’s immigrant journey from Morocco to America and the incredible resilience and perseverance it took for French Montana to rise to the top of the music industry. The documentary highlights the trials he faced growing up in one of the toughest neighborhoods in New York, navigating cultural challenges, and overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles to pursue the American Dream.
French posted on social media on Wednesday, “I’m excited to finally announce our partnership with Paramount to release the long-awaited documentary about a single mother who sacrifices everything to raise her three young sons in the Bronx. It tells a family’s immigrant journey in pursuit of the American Dream. Releasing on November 19th on Paramount + .🇲🇦.”
Audiences can expect an intimate and emotional portrayal of French Montana’s life, told through the lens of a mother’s love, sacrifice, and a son’s relentless drive to succeed. The French Montana Story: For Khadija will stream exclusively on Paramount+ starting November 19.
