Some of the biggest stars released albums in 2023, and we can’t wait to see who will be dropping their debuts and follow-up projects as we preview a list of albums coming in 2024. As streaming becomes more integrated, artists from around the world compete for listening ears, whether you prefer pop, hip-hop, reggae, dancehall, or Latin. All the music is available in one place, although fans will ultimately choose their favorites.
Already on our calendar are release dates that have been announced, as well as pending and expected albums.
Stefflon Don has been promising fans her debut album Island 54 for two years. The album has been pushed back several after since she signed a global partnership with BMG to promote the album worldwide. Fans are hoping the Don will drop the highly anticipated album this year.
Lila Ike will be releasing her major label debut album via RCA Records according to sources close to the matter. Protoje produced six songs on the album the people said.
Future sparked excitement among fans by hinting at an upcoming album with Metro Boomin on Saturday (Dec. 23), after the rapper posted an old tweet on an Instagram Story, featuring the words “Pluto x Metro,” alongside the caption “Album on the way.”
The Atlanta hit maker has been teasing the Metro Boomin collaborative project for almost two years. The duo already have the hit tracks like “X,” “Where Ya At,” and “Jumpman.” Recently, they were announced as headliners for the 2024 Rolling Loud California, replacing Lil Uzi Vert.
While fans eagerly await the date for the collaborative effort between Future and Metro Boomin, 2024 also promises more albums from acts like Jennifer Lopez who will be dropping her ninth studio album “This Is Me…Now”. That albums for release in February has the single “Can’t Get Enough” that will be available January 10 which samples’s Sasha’s hook on Sean Paul’s “I’m Still In Love With You”.
Columbian singer Kali Uchis, is preparing for the release of her second all-Spanish-language project, “Orquideas,” scheduled to drop at the beginning of 2024. The project’s lead single, “Muñekita,” is a dynamic dembow-infused anthem featuring El Alfa, a prominent figure leading dembow’s crossover into American audiences, along with JT from the rap duo City Girls. Additionally, she released the bolero-inspired track, “Te Mata,” and collaborates with KAROL G on the reggaeton dance pop song, “Labios Mordidos.”
In 2024, Usher also has an exciting lineup ahead. Not only is he set to grace the stage at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, but like Lopez, he’ll also be dropping his eagerly anticipated ninth studio album, “Coming Home,” on the same day. In 2023 Usher releases the hit single, “Good Good,” featuring R&B and rap heavyweights Summer Walker and 21 Savage, however, it was his savvy move to feature KeKe Palmer in the music video for “Boyfriend” that truly grabbed the internet’s attention this year. This strategic decision followed publicized discomfort from Palmer’s ex-boyfriend, who objected to what she wore to Usher’s Las Vegas residency after videos circulated of her being serenaded by Usher on stage.
Lenny Kravitz, is set to drop in the first quarter as well as Flo Milli who exudes confidence on every track, solidifying her status as one of the most promising emerging rappers in recent years. The Alabama rapper first gained viral fame in 2019 with the hit “Beef FloMix,” laying the groundwork for her debut mixtape, “Ho, why is you here?” in 2020. Building on her success, the 23-year-old artist released her second project, “You Still Here, Ho?” in 2022. Looking ahead to 2024, fans can anticipate her debut studio album, “Fine Ho, Stay.” While an official release date is pending, enthusiasts can indulge in her viral hits such as “In The Party” or her latest single, “Never Lose Me,” currently making waves online.
Following the success of her global hit “Water,” Tyla is set to drop her self titled debut album in March via FAX/Epic Records. The album will also feature “Truth Or Dare“, “Butterflies” and “On and On” which have all charted on the US Billboard Afobeats Chart.
Fans will have to settle for an album with Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign “Vultures,” since the possibility of a “Watch The Throne 2” is looking slim but there have bee speculations about a new Jay-Z album that will be dropping this year too according to sources close to the matter.
