The 2024 ceremony, slated for Saturday, October 19th at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio, promises to be a memorable event celebrating the legacies of these iconic artists.
Reflecting on the significance of the induction, John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, emphasized the profound influence of this year’s honorees, stating, “This diverse group of inductees each broke down musical barriers and influenced countless artists that followed in their footsteps.”
The induction categories span a spectrum of musical contributions, from Performers who have reshaped the landscape of rock & roll to recipients of the Musical Influence Award and the Musical Excellence Award, recognizing individuals whose creativity has left an indelible mark on the industry.
Notably, this year’s induction ceremony marks a return to Disney+ and ABC, where an edited version of the show will allow fans worldwide to join in the celebration of these musical trailblazers, with a special airing on ABC and availability on Hulu the following day.
In addition to the Performer category, which includes debut nominees like Cher, Foreigner, Kool & the Gang, and Peter Frampton, the Ahmet Ertegun Award recognizes non-performing industry professionals whose contributions have shaped the evolution of rock & roll and youth culture.
