This week Kendrick Lamar makes a grand entrance on the Billboard Hot 100, claiming the top spot with “Not Like Us.”
His latest track produced by DJ Mustard is a direct jab at Drake, debuts at No. 1 with an impressive 70.9 million official streams, 5 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 15,000 units sold in the US during its inaugural week. This marks Lamar’s fourth chart-topper, following his collaborations “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin, “HUMBLE.,” and “Bad Blood” with Taylor Swift. “Not Like Us” also secures the top position on the Streaming Songs, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and Hot Rap Songs charts.
Lamar’s presence on the Hot 100 doesn’t end there; his second diss track aimed at Drake, titled “euphoria,” leaps from No. 11 to No. 3, while “Like That” ascends two spots to settle at No. 6.
On the other side of the feud, Drake retaliates with his own Lamar diss track, “Family Matters,” entering the charts at No. 7 this week. The track garners 38 million streams, 646,000 airplay audience impressions, and 5,000 units sold. This achievement marks Drake’s 78th top 10 entry on the Hot 100 and his 331st overall entry, solidifying his dominance in the music industry.
Elsewhere, British singer Dua Lipa makes an impressive debut on this week’s Billboard 200, entering at No. 2 with her latest studio album, “Radical Optimism.”
The album racks up a total of 83,000 equivalent album units in its first week, comprising 51,500 in album sales, 30,500 in streaming equivalent album units (equating to 39.7 million on-demand streams of the songs), and 1,000 in track equivalent album units. “Radical Optimism” emerges as the top-selling album of the week and marks Lipa’s best sales week to date. It also secures her highest-charting album yet, following the No. 3 peak of “Future Nostalgia,” her second top 10 effort.
“Radical Optimism” debuted at #1 in the UK, Australia and the Netherlands as well as #2 in New Zealand, Ireland and Belgium.
Joining Lipa in the Billboard 200 chart debut spotlight is SEVENTEEN, with their album “17 Is Right Here” making its entry at No. 5 with 53,000 equivalent album units in its first week.
Elsewhere in the top 10, Taylor Swift maintains her stronghold at No. 1 for the third consecutive week, followed by Morgan Wallen at No. 3 and Future and Metro Boomin at No. 4. Rounding out the bottom half are Ye and Ty Dolla $ign at No. 6, Wallen again at No. 7, Beyoncé at No. 8, Noah Kahan at No. 9, and SZA at No. 10.
