The best nightclubs in the world are located in Spain and Brazil according to DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs 2026.
[UNVRS] pronounced ‘Universe,’ Ibiza’s newest superclub takes the crown in its first year, while Asia expands its influence and established venues face a volatile global ranking.
Billionaire, Ray Dalio celebrated his 77th birthday in the top club this week and shared the moment on Instagram saying, “I had a blast being out until 4am with my family and friends at UNVRS in Ibiza for my 77th birthday and thought I’d pass it along to turn you onto it, in case you’re in the neighborhood.”
The 4000 capacity Spain venue displaced four-time winner Hï Ibiza and according to DJ Mag, it is the first venue to enter directly at No. 1 since the magazine’s staff compiled the inaugural poll in 2006, and the first ever to reach the summit within 12 months of opening.
[UNVRS] opened only on 30 May 2025 and the venue combines large-scale audiovisual production with a club-focused layout. Its main room is supported by smaller spaces, outdoor terraces and a programme that, in its first season, included residencies and events from Carl Cox, Eric Prydz, Anyma, Jamie Jones, FISHER, David Guetta and elrow. Less than a year after opening, it has converted that scale, programming and publicity into the top position in DJ Mag’s reader-voted poll.
Six of the top 20 clubs are on the island of Ibiza, including three venues in the top four.
Ushuaïa Ibiza remains third, Hï Ibiza falls three places to fourth, Amnesia Ibiza ranks 16th, Pacha Ibiza 18th and DC-10 19th. [UNVRS], Ushuaïa and Hï are also all operated by The Night League, a company owned by French entrepreneur Yann Pissenem.
Outside Ibiza, Brazil’s Greenvalley retains second place, matching its 2025 position and remaining the highest-ranked club beyond Spain. Savaya in Bali rises one place to fifth, ahead of Washington, D.C.’s Echostage at sixth and Brazil’s Laroc Club at seventh. Madrid’s FABRIK climbs six places to eighth, Illuzion Phuket holds ninth, and Brazil’s Surreal Park surges 16 positions to complete the top 10.
Destination clubs, urban institutions, beach venues, warehouse-scale spaces and production-heavy superclubs all appear near the front. The result is less a verdict on one ideal form of clubbing than a snapshot of the venues that have built the strongest international loyalty among participating readers.
The Year’s Biggest Movers
Quake Arena records the largest rise in the 2026 ranking, jumping 26 places from 56th to 30th. APLUS HANOI and London’s Drumsheds each climb 24 positions, reaching 43rd and 45th respectively, while Space Club rises 23 places to 69th. D-Edge moves up 18 places to 35th, and Index makes the same-sized leap to 80th. Club Space also has a notable year, advancing 10 places into the top 15.
Some of those gains reverse the direction of the previous ranking. Zouk Singapore, for example, fell 16 places in 2025 but rebounds 13 places this year to 17th.
Drumsheds slipped two places last year before its 24-place surge. Quake Arena, a 2025 newcomer at No. 56, has rapidly converted its debut into a top-30 finish.
The steepest decline belongs to WARP Shinjuku, down 42 places from 31st to 73rd. Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub falls 30 places to 84th, while Zouk drops 24 places to 83rd. Time loses 23 positions, and OMNIA and ShiShi Bali each fall 22. Near the top, The Warehouse Project drops 11 places from fourth to 15th—the largest fall among last year’s top 10—while Hï Ibiza’s three-place decline ends its run at No. 1.
These movements show how quickly a reader poll can change. A sharp fall does not necessarily indicate a collapse in a venue’s quality, just as a dramatic climb cannot be read as a formal audit of operations. The ranking measures voter enthusiasm and visibility as much as longevity, and annual shifts may reflect new openings, campaigns, changing travel patterns and evolving regional audiences.
The 2026 list contains 19 new entries and one re-entry, Shelter Amsterdam at No. 90. The newcomers are spread throughout the chart rather than clustered near the bottom. INS LAND arrives at No. 12, Play X at No. 27 and Atlas Superclub Bali at No. 42. Other debuts include Atlas Superclub Bangkok, Zouk Tokyo, CLUB SEEN Koh Samui, The H Club Jakarta, Lion Seoul, APLUS SAIGON and CINÉ Saigon.
That concentration makes Asia one of the year’s clearest growth stories. Established regional names such as Savaya, Illuzion Phuket, Zouk Singapore, WAVE Club, Marquee Singapore and Café Del Mar Phuket are joined by a deep group of first-time entrants. Vietnam alone places APLUS HANOI at 43rd, APLUS SAIGON at 59th and CINÉ Saigon at 68th. Indonesia adds new entries in Bali and Jakarta, while Thailand gains debuts in Bangkok and Koh Samui.
Europe and the Americas remain highly visible. London places fabric at 13th, Studio 338 at 20th, Ministry of Sound at 24th and Drumsheds at 45th, while Manchester’s Warehouse Project sits 15th. Brazil, meanwhile, is the only country besides Spain with three venues in the top 10: Greenvalley, Laroc Club and Surreal Park.
The lower reaches of the ranking also bring fresh geographic breadth. Pelícano debuts at 81st, ivy Sydney at 92nd, Amnesia Milano at 94th and Germany’s Open Ground at 100th. Their arrival, alongside Shelter Amsterdam’s return, gives the final quarter of the chart the feel of a watchlist for future movement.
[UNVRS] taking No. 1 in its debut year captures the central tension in the 2026 results. Heritage still matters: Greenvalley, Ushuaïa, Hï, fabric, Berghain, Pacha, DC-10 and Ministry of Sound remain prominent. But novelty, production ambition and global visibility can now accelerate a venue from opening night to the top of an international poll in a single season.
The ranking also suggests that club culture’s centre of gravity is becoming more distributed. Ibiza remains its most powerful showcase, yet the biggest gains and many of the new entries come from Brazil, Southeast Asia, East Asia and fast-growing markets beyond Europe’s traditional club capitals.
