Drake leaks? Is the King of Hip Hop now the King of references? There was once a time when rappers were expected to write their lyrics solely by themselves and even take it a step further and not write them and just know from you head (word to Jay-Z).
Nowadays, rap music, which has become pop, has updated a more collaborative art. The creative process has become writing camps for for rappers, producers, and singers. Rappers have been doing it for years but Drake, is now the most dominant rap artist of the decade to have a ghostwriter.
The Weeknd’s contributions to Take Care began circulating in 2011, it has been widely accepted that Drake uses collaborators for his music and, seemingly, his verses.
