The label’s name comes from the term “greenback” which refers to a type of U.S. currency, not Irish money originated during the American Civil War in the 1960s when the U.S. government issued over $400 million in paper money, printed with green ink to finance the war against itself. These notes were called greenbacks because of their green-colored backs. Conner’s boxing nemesis Floyd Mayweather goes by the name Floyd Money Mayweather.
