Usher is set to leverage his Super Bowl LVIII halftime performance in February to kickstart his first major tour in nearly a decade, aiming to become the first artist in seven years to launch a tour from the Super Bowl stage, according to Billboard.
Following the NFL’s announcement of Usher as the halftime show performer at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Feb. 11, Usher’s team is actively reserving venues worldwide. They plan to finalize a global tour for 2024, ready for ticket sales immediately after the Super Bowl performance.
Speaking with Sharon Burke of Solid Agency about the possibilities of Usher coming to Jamaica she told WMV, “Jamaica would love to see Usher and it would be well worth it , If it remains at the same price as Chris Brown.”
Burke was instrumental in getting hot ticket African Giant Burna Boy and Chris Brown to have their ‘Love, Damini’ and ‘Under The Influence’ tours respectively at the National Stadium in Kingston in December and August.
Tickets for Brown’s show which was part of the BZR Weekend went for as high as USD$15,000.
Usher has recently found success with residencies in Las Vegas, earning over $83 million and selling 374,000 tickets from 79 shows. Billboard estimates that his earnings will surpass $100 million by early December, surpassing his previous tours.
Additionally, Usher will use the halftime show to launch his ninth studio album, “Coming Home,” set for release February 11, 2024, marking his first album release since 2016. The Super Bowl’s massive viewership provides a unique platform for artists to announce tours, with Lady Gaga being the last to do so in 2017.
Usher has never performed in Kingston, Jamaica and his last performance in Montego Bay was over ten years ago at Reggae Sumfest when he was joined onstage by Chris Brown when Elephant Man refereed a dance off between to two pop stars,
