Usher Sings ‘Bam Bam,’ Embraces Masicka During Toronto Stop of ‘Past, Present, Future Tour’

Usher

Dancehall artist Masicka made his biggest international appearance on September 2, on Usher’s “Past, Present, Future” tour at the 19,000 capacity Scotia Bank Arena in Toronto, Canada.

Kardinal, who is Masicka’s A&R at Def Jam Records, delivered a set during Usher’s “Past, Present, Future” stop in Toronto. He surprised the audience by introducing the Jamaican deejay with a special shoutout: “I had to bring a special friend, all the way from Kingston, Jamaica. Make some noise for Masicka!”

Wearing a neon green shirt, Masicka hit the stage and performed his track “Wet” from his sophomore studio album, Generations of Kings.

After his performance, Masicka and Usher shared a warm embrace. As the moment lingered, Usher was heard singing the hook of Toots and The Maytals’ classic “Bam Bam,” famously sampled in Chaka Demus and Pliers’ hit “Murder She Wrote.” Both Kardinal and Usher then performed a rendition of that iconic song.

Usher “Past Present Future” tour, kicked off on August 20, 2024, in Washington, D.C., at the Capitol One Arena. This, following his 2024 Super Bowl halftime performance and a successful Las Vegas residency. The tour, his first in eight years, spans 30 years of music and features over 45 songs, including hits from his iconic 2004 album Confessionsand tracks from his latest album, Coming Home. The show is a two-hour spectacle that creatively blends his past, present, and future through innovative staging, quick costume changes, and reimagined versions of his life, including future and younger versions of himself.

Usher is doing back to back sold out nights at the Scotia Bank Arena, followed by four sold out nights at the Barclays’s Center in Brooklyn New York form September 6-10. He then goes to Little Caesars Arena for another two sold out dates on September 12 and 13th.
