Vybz Kartel & Lila Iké Among 73 Contenders for Best Reggae Album at 2026 GRAMMY® Awards

73 albums have been submitted for consideration in the Best Reggae® Album category for the 2026 GRAMMY® Awards—two fewer than last year according to the list of submissions sent out to eligible voters moments ago.

Category 66 recognizes albums containing more than 75% playing time of new reggae recordings. This year’s submissions range from veteran roots reggae acts to emerging voices and experimental projects, highlighting the genre’s evolving sound and influence.

15 (20.5%) of the submissions are from dancehall artist include Time Is Now by Likkle Addi, Good Times by Charly Black, and the collaborative Country Man Riddim by Blaqk Sheep with songs by Sizzla, Perfect, Aiesha, Ras Ajai, Dahvid Slur.

Other notable entries are Sherlock by Cham, From Ding Dong To World Ding by Ding Dong, Ups & Downs by DJ Mac, and Forward We Continue by Don Dada. The list also highlights Grateful by E-Dee, Heart & Soul by Vybz Kartel, Blxxd & Fyah by Keznamdi, Pool Party by Konshens, Ghetto Reggae by Mr. Vegas, Shwaycation by Shwayze, International by Skillibeng, and Hate Being Famous by Squash.

The submissions also feature collaborative projects and riddim albums, like the “Country Man Riddim” project featuring Blaqk Sheep, Countryman 868, and other artists, while “Africa Rise Riddim” showcases multiple contributors from across the reggae diaspora.

From roots and dancehall to contemporary fusions, the 2026 Best Reggae® Album field demonstrates the genre’s resilience, creativity, and international appeal. Artists from Jamaica, the U.S., and other global communities underscore reggae’s enduring legacy while pushing its boundaries into new sonic territories.

First round voting for the 68th GRAMMY® Awards begins today October 3 through to October 15 with nominees announced on November 7, 2025, and final round voting from December 12, 2025, to January 5, 2026.

The winners will be revealed during the ceremony in on February 1, 2026.
