Vybz Kartel’s First Words After Freedom: “Its A Joy,” Sends Warning To The Youths

Top selling dancehall artist Vybz Kartel walked free from the Tower Street Adult Correctional Facility on Wednesday, July 31. The deejay, who was wearing a full white T-shirt and white jeans, spoke to the media and a crowd that had gathered at the entrance of the facility.

“Me feel good, It’s A Joy,” he began, then he was asked what was it like in prison to which he said “hell, hell, hell.”

Just before entering his waiting limousine he said, “me a tell the youth them stay out a F*kry.” He along with his co-accused then entered the all white luxury vehicle where bottles of champagne awaited the men.

The 48 year old deejay then shared a video on social media from inside the limousine holding a bottle beside his fiancé Sidem Ozturk saying, “Yo, one Don, me and me baby.” As his fiancé looked on, he requested, “kiss me baby” as the two shared a passionate kiss. He captioned the video “Me and wifey #AMOUT”

Several superstars commented on the video including Nicki Minaj who said, “Welcome home.”

Diplo with who he collaborated for one of his biggest hits “pop de floor” commented “he free.”

Teejay posted, “Dat is it mi Fada road.”

Cham posted, “Happy Fi Yu Wow.”

Fans who could not get enough of the deejay rushed the limousine saying “big up yourself Kartel.”
