Dancehall artist Pamputtae performed at the pre-show for Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 Tour on Tuesday (April 30) in Toronto. The Fluffy deejay warmed up the crowd eagerly awaiting the Barbie Queen on the second night of the Canadian leg of the tour.
With a Jamaican flag in hand and another wrapped around her leg, the spirited performer was dressed in full pink bikini regalia as she signaled the Barbz to pat it, beckoning to her private parts and twerking to the applause of the crowd who got an eyeful.
“Pamputtae from Kingston, Jamaica,” she said, taking a breath from her on-stage antics.
“I just want to take the time out to big up Nicki Minaj, Pamputtae from Kingston, Jamaica, a single mother of two boys, and I come to kill it,” she said before rhyming her Likkle Miss Fine Nine verse.
Minaj performed on April 18 at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, but due to popular demand, a second date was added for April 30.
With gross receipts surpassing $2.9 million, Nicki Minaj was the sixth-highest-grossing act according to Billboard’s March box score and the highest rapper on the list from the 13 shows. The Pink Friday 2 World Tour is now her highest-selling tour to date, with over 25 arena shows selling out within days of the official presale.
The tri-state hometown performances in Newark, New York City, and Brooklyn alone sold 30,000 tickets, prompting the addition of an extra date. The success of her tour mirrors the monumental achievement of her latest album, Pink Friday 2, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. With this accomplishment, Minaj secured the most #1 albums on the Billboard 200 by a female rapper and became the first female rap artist to achieve a #1 album in two different decades.
Back on Boxscore, Bad Bunny’s Most Wanted Tour was the highest grossing in March, grossing an impressive $64.6 million and selling 207,000 tickets over 13 shows, securing his fifth month at No. 1.
Bad Bunny’s tour now surpasses Beyoncé and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra to become the second-highest monthly winner in the US, trailing only Elton John. His standout performances in Los Angeles and Chicago propelled him to the top of the Top Boxscores, with each show earning over $3 million. Meanwhile, rising star Zach Bryan followed closely behind at No. 2 with $62.3 million from his Quittin Time Tour. Women also made a strong showing, with P!nk and Madonna ranking at Nos. 3 and 4 respectively.
Karol G represented Latin at Nos. 5, showcasing the diversity of talent in the industry. Additionally, festivals like Pa’l Norte in Monterrey, Mexico, and Esterio Picnic contributed to the month’s top Billboard Boxscores.
Across Asia, Ed Sheeran and SEVENTEEN rounded out the chart, further demonstrating the international appeal of live performances.
