Shenseea performs Hangover from her debut album Alpha.
In a dimly lit room and a guitarist in the cut, the dancehall princess caresses the mic with her voice and bears her soul, as she belts out the chorus to one of the better songs from her album. “It’s gonna hurt when we break up/But good nights are worth the hangover”, she convincingly performs with needle moving vocals.
A sobering difference in performance from the salacious music video for Lick featuring Megan Thee Stallion that sent tongues wagging in January.
The Blessed singer was nominated for album of the year at this year’s Grammy awards by way of her two song contributions (Ok Ok pt.2 and Pure Souls) to Kanye West’s ‘Donda’ album. Neither she nor Kanye attended the ceremony but Donda lost the award to Jon Baptiste We Care.
Shenseea said her schedule did not permit her to attend music’s biggest night in Las Vegas due to the Grammys change of date and venue.
I'm not going. The grammys date change clashed with my schedule 🥹 wouldn't make it in time even if i tried https://t.co/sXBPd90l2D

None of the other albums she contributed to won Grammys this year. Shenseea tweeted on Sunday,
I received my Nominee medal though! We got 4 nominations bro! 4!!! Before my album was even released best of luck to the projects I was apart of God is great”

She also added some support for Kanye West whose performance was scrapped from the ceremony.
I'm not mad about it either…
