Skeng Dominates New Rules, Social Media Reacts

Expectations were riding high on the line up for Alkaline’s New Rules at the National Stadium car park in Kingston Jamaica on July 2.

Social media pundits are reacting to dancehall new comer Skeng’s performance as the best of the night.

Ahead of the show Skeng told World Music Views, “Working with tower bands on New Rules it’s a good look, Alkaline is one of the best, so me feel good to know me reach pon stages with some of the greats”.

Throughout his 20 minute performance the band was indeed on point as Skeng dominated the second Jamaican staging of New Rules with his No. 1 hits such as Protocol, Gvnman Shift and Talibhan with Stalk Ashley.

This year’s jam packed event also featured Aidonia who gave a shout out to Vybz Kartel during his set, Macka Diamond, Jahvillani, Stalk Ashley, Marcy Chin, Knaxx, Star Captyn, Sykario, and Kacique, alongside Alkaline who closed the show.

For many, Macka Diamond stood out and was engaging throughout her set.

Alkaline’s 30 minute performance was also commendable and some are calling it an improvement on previous appearances.
