Whispa has released a fiery new track titled “Hot Oil,” inspired by his appearance on the viral comedic series Coulda Been Records: JAMAICA Auditions hosted by internet sensation Druski.
The music video for “Hot Oil” cleverly incorporates footage from the show’s standout moment—Whispa’s audition in front of Popcaan, who served as a guest judge. The clip captures Whispa’s unique performance style and comedic timing, which helped turn the moment into a fan favorite. Now, with the release of “Hot Oil,” he’s turning that viral energy into a full-fledged anthem.
Released by Crown Media House and Hundred Hours Entertainment, the song was officially released on April 20, 2025.
“Technically its not an official feature by Popcaan because its not released on the DSPs as a feature but Popcaan co-signed, he shared and endorsed it,” Producer King Debo told World Music Views.
Debo has previously produced songs with Jada Kingdom, Chronic Law, Mallie Don and more. Comedian and internet star
Druski’s Kingston taping of his Coulda Been Records: Jamaica Auditions, also featured Shenseea. After filming, the American comedian hit a local street dance where things got wild, sharing clips of himself getting hyped by dancers and joking on social media, “I need to leave this FREAKYASS ISLAND.”
His post sparked reactions from celebs like Stylo G, Stefflon Don, Rvssian, Quavo, and I-Octane, who praised him for embracing the real Jamaican experience beyond tourist spots. Druski’s parody label Coulda Been Records has gained momentum, with recent auditions held in cities across the U.S. and Lagos, Nigeria, where he linked with Davido. His Jamaican trip continues the global expansion of the comedic yet increasingly serious talent search. The Jamaican episode has surpassed 5 million streams on YouTube.
