The song is Konshens’ first release to surpass 350 million Spotify streams and also his first Platinum certification in Canada. For Doja Cat, it represents her 23rd song to cross the mark on the platform.
A slow-paced, chopped-and-screwed groove, “Wine Pon You” was produced by Grammy-nominated collaborators Antwoine “TROY NōKA” Collins and David Sprecher, also known as Yeti Beats. Sprecher has been a key creative partner throughout Doja Cat’s career, contributing heavily to her sound and artistic evolution. The track was written by Sprecher, Doja Cat, Konshens, and Collins.
“Wine Pon You” appears on Doja Cat’s debut album, Amala, named after the artist’s first name. The project arrived March 30, 2018 and laid the groundwork for her crossover success.
