“Wine Pon You” by pop superstar Doja Cat, featuring Jamaican dancehall hitmaker Konshens, has officially been certified Platinum in Canada, recognizing sales and streaming figures exceeding 80,000 units. The certification awarded by Music Canada comes via RCA Records in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc.

In Canada 160 eligible Premium On-Demand Audio and/or Video streams count as 1 unit towards Single Award Certifications  and 240 eligible Ad-Supported On-Demand Audio and/or Video streams count as 1 unit towards Single Award Certifications.

Originally released in 2018, the track has quietly grown into a streaming powerhouse. “Wine Pon You” currently pulls in nearly 500,000 streams per day on Spotify, marking a historic achievement for both artists. The song is Konshens’ first release to surpass 350 million Spotify streams and also his first Platinum certification in Canada. For Doja Cat, it represents her 23rd song to cross the mark on the platform.

A slow-paced, chopped-and-screwed groove, “Wine Pon You” was produced by Grammy-nominated collaborators Antwoine “TROY NōKA” Collins and David Sprecher, also known as Yeti Beats. Sprecher has been a key creative partner throughout Doja Cat’s career, contributing heavily to her sound and artistic evolution. The track was written by Sprecher, Doja Cat, Konshens, and Collins.

“Wine Pon You” appears on Doja Cat’s debut album, Amala, named after the artist’s first name. The project arrived March 30, 2018 and laid the groundwork for her crossover success. Although “Wine Pon You” was never officially released as a single, it has become the sixth track from the album’s 13-song standard edition (16-track deluxe) to reach a major certification milestone.

Interest in the song has intensified again following reports that chart-topping pop star Olivia Rodrigo sampled “Wine Pon You” on her upcoming single, Vampire. According to BBC Radio, the track appears on Rodrigo’s forthcoming album GUTS, scheduled for release on September 8. “Vampire” drops June 30, accompanied by a music video directed by Petra Collins, set to premiere at midnight ET.

Beyond streaming platforms, “Wine Pon You” continues to rack up views elsewhere. On YouTube, the official audio has surpassed 72 million views.
