With “Wisdom” There Is A New Number 1, Plus The Top Ten Billboard Reggae Albums This Week

Making their debut at number 1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart this week is Stick Figure with their album “Wisdom.”

Stick Figure’s 7th full length studio album Wisdom took the top spot from Bob Marley & The Wailers’ “Best Of” album Legend, which enjoyed 140 weeks at the top of the chart. Legend comes in at number 2 this week.

World Music Views was the first to report yesterday, that “Wisdom” sold album equivalent 13,900 units from sales and streaming in the United States during its first week of release on September 9 via Ruffwood Records.

This includes 9,700 copies in pure album sales, and 5.5 million from streaming in the US, according to our sources at Luminate(formerly Neilson/MRC Data.

Including “Wisdom’s” pre-released tracks, the album has so far sold 34,900 units in total (including 32.3 million streams), over its lifetime as of September 15, 2022.

Wisdom has also debuted on the Billboard Independent Albums chart at No. 6, and Stick Figure has entered the Billboard Artists 100 chart at No. 43.

Best Of albums from Shaggy and UB40 took the 3rd and 4th positions on the chart. Stick Figure’s 2019 album “World On Fire” and Set In Stone secured the 5th and 7th spot. In between at number 6 is Sean Paul’s Dutty Classics. Sean’s Dutty Rock also at No. 7, Koffee’s Gifted at no. 9 and Bob Marley’s Gold at number 10.

Stick Figure’s chart entries this week with Wisdomsurpass fellow Californian reggae group Rebelution’s 2016 album Falling Into Place which debuted with 13,000 units.

Sting & Shaggy’s collaborative album 44/876 released on April 2018 by A&M Records, Interscope Records and Cherrytree Records, debuted at number nine on the UK Albums Chart with first-week sales of 10,000 units.

Stick Figure 2019 album World on Fire, which clocked opening sales of 10,283 copies. World on Fire has sold over 300,000 copies including streaming equivalents, according to Luminate data tracking. The album peaked at number 34 on the Billboard Top 200, #6 overall Top albums, #1 Independent, and #1 Reggae album.

The sublime reggae band’s catalog has now sold over one million copies and been streamed over three billion times.

Wisdom is recorded and mixed by vocalist and producer Scott Woodruff, with collaborations from Slightly Stoopid(Way of Life),Barrington Levy(Soul Of The World) and Collie Buddz(Showdown).
