Stephen Marley’s cover ‘You Don’t Know How It Feels’ from Bad Monkey (Apple+ Original Series Soundtrack) has peaked at No. 1 on the U.S. Reggae iTunes chart.
The song was released on September 24 via Water Tower Music. The original song was written and released by American Roots Rock singer Tom Petty on November 7, 1994. That song peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Albums Rock chart and reached No. 13 on the Billboard hot 100.
The show’s creative director Bill Lawrence, uses Tom Petty’s catalog of music throughout with several top musical acts doing their cover to celebrate the music of Tom Petty in each episode.
Vince Vaughn stars in the Apple TV+ series Bad Monkey, based on Carl Hiaasen’s New York Times bestselling novel. Vaughn plays Andrew Yancy, a former police detective turned restaurant inspector, who is drawn into a web of greed and corruption when a tourist discovers a severed arm while fishing.
Yancy, who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department is now a health inspector in the Keys. The final has a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The supporting cast features L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, and Jodie Turner-Smith. The first two episodes premiered on August 14, and the series finale will air on October 9, 2024, on Apple TV+.
The soundtrack, composed by Waz & Jamie Jackson, also includes covers of Tom Petty songs by artists like Weezer, The War On Drugs, Sharon Van Etten, and Nathaniel Rateliff.
