KINGSTON, Jamaica — Independence Park Limited (IPL), operators of Jamaica’s National Stadium, has confirmed that there there will be no BZR WKND event in the venue as organisation no longer has a booking for the event, which was scheduled for October 18–19 in Kingston.
Officials at Independence Park Limited told World Music Views that the stadium booking was cancelled on Monday, October 12, following rapper Cardi B’s withdrawal from the highly anticipated concert.
As of Tuesday, October 13, the festival’s ticketing platform was advertising packages ranging from US$79.99 to US$649.99, even as organisers have yet to publicly explain how the event will proceed without its advertised headline act or a confirmed booking at the National Stadium.
The reopening follows an earlier suspension of ticket sales, which came amid uncertainty surrounding Cardi B’s participation.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, we regret to inform you that ticket sales have been suspended until further notice,” a notice previously posted on the festival’s website stated.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding,” it continued.
However, the suspension has since been lifted, with tickets again being advertised for purchase.
The cancellation followed Cardi B’s indication that she would not be travelling to Jamaica for the festival, where she had been promoted as the headline attraction.
The National Stadium had been advertised as the venue for the event.
It remains unclear whether organisers are attempting to relocate the event or cancel the festival altogether.
Following the controversy surrounding the rapper’s advertised appearance, BZR WKND organisers issued a public statement acknowledging concerns about the event.
“We are aware of the recent developments surrounding BZR WKND Jamaica 2026, scheduled for October 18 at Jamaica’s National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica,” the statement read.
“We understand the excitement and anticipation surrounding this event, and we recognize that fans and ticket holders are looking for clarity.”
However, the statement did not directly address Cardi B’s announcement that she would not be performing in Jamaica, nor did it explain whether the festival would proceed without its advertised headline act.
Instead, organisers indicated that discussions were ongoing.
“Our team is actively working through the latest developments, and we will share an official update as soon as additional details are confirmed,” the statement continued.
“We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding and continued support.”
The statement also did not address the cancellation of the National Stadium booking confirmed by Independence Park Limited officials.
Despite Cardi B’s withdrawal, ticket packages bearing references to the Grammy-winning rapper remain among those being advertised on the festival’s ticketing platform.
The highest-priced package, the Cardi BZR WKND Pass for the stage pit, is listed at US$649.99, while a Cardi WIP Zone floor ticket is advertised at US$369.99.
Other packages include the Bardi VIP Zone at US$169.99 and Tier 3 grandstand tickets at US$149.99.
The website also advised purchasers that confirmation emails could be delayed because of the volume of sales.
“Due to the overwhelming demand for BZR WKND Jamaica 2026 Presents: Cardi B — Likkle Miss Drama, ticket purchasers have been placed in an email queue to receive their official ticket purchase confirmation,” the notice stated.
Neither the original suspension notice nor the organisers’ subsequent public statement provided an explicit assurance that patrons would receive refunds if the rapper did not perform.
The statements also did not indicate whether customers would be eligible for refunds if the festival proceeds with a revised lineup or at a different venue.
Following this report, BZR announced on their instagram page that the event in postponed.
