In the final week of streaming in Jamaica for 2022, data gathered from YouTube by WMV Charts Insights shows that Chronic Law is the most streamed artist in Jamaica over the past 12 months (December 28, 2021- December 28, 2022). Skeng who has been in the lead for most of the year has surpassed 95.1 million views in Jamaica on the Google owned platform while Chronic Law has 118 million views over the same period.
Where Skeng outperforms Chronic Law on YouTube is with global views count. The Likkle Miss DJ who had two remixes with Nicki Minaj throughout the year recorded 260 million views on YouTube globally over the last 12 months while Chronic Law has 201 million.
Shensee la and Tasha Cobbs are the only two women on the top 20 artists charts at #18 and #20 respectively over the last year. Masicka comes in at No. 3, Squash #4, Vybz Kartel #5, Jahshii #6, Alkaline #7, Intence #8, Tommy Lee Sparta #9, Teejay #10, Popcaan #11, Kraff Gad #12, Silk Boss #13, Rygin King #14, Chris Brown #15, Mallie Don #16, Valiant #17, and Skillibeng #19.
Top Songs On YouTube In Jamaica Year-End 2022
Meanwhile Jahshii’s “Born Fighter” is the most streamed song on YouTube in Jamaica for the last 12 months. The music video released last January has so far received 23 million views globally, of that sum 10.7 million was from Jamaica. Jahshii also has “Keep Up” at No. 11.
2021’s most streamed YouTube song/video in Jamaica was Virgin by JahVinchi and Vybz Kartel was the most streamed artist of 2021.
YouTube continues to be the leading streaming platform for music and music videos in Jamaica for 5 years in a row. Not to be confused with YouTube’s premium service YouTube Music, which is an app dedicated to music but not yet available in Jamaica.
Continuing on the YouTube video/songs chart in Jamaica, Protocol by Skeng and Tommy Lee is the no. 2 song this year. The TrueEyez directed music video racked up 10.6 million streams on YouTube over the last 12 months which extends its record as the most streamed song in Jamaica on YouTube of all time (Since 2014) for a second year. Overall Protocol has surpassed 42 weeks on the YouTube Jamaica charts and spent 8 weeks at No. 1 with a total of 15,455,8500 streams from the island.
It is the only song to record more than 15 million streams in the island making it the first song to be a WMV® Certified Platinum Award hit.
Cumulatively the music video has 45 million views worldwide. Skeng also has Talibhan with Stalk Ashley as the #3 most streamed song on YouTube in Jamaica over the last year, Life Changes at No. 5, London No. 14, and Heaven Passport at No. 20.
Masicka has three songs on the top 20: Suicide Note, Moments with Stefflon Don and History at No. 4, 12 and 15 respectively. Sweepstakes Life and Ambala by Squash at 6 and 7.

2022 breakthrough artist Valiant has two songs in the Year End top 20 YouTube Jamaica charts: Dunce Check at No. 13 and North Carolina at No. 17.
