As the 2027 Grammy race heats up, Jamaican reggae star Chronixx has revealed that he is represented by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), while calling for albums created using artificial intelligence and machine learning to be placed in a separate category.
The Grammy-nominated singer made the disclosure in an Instagram post reflecting on his musical journey, the impact of his latest album, Exile, and his plans to return to the concert stage.
“LLM and machine learning albums should be in a separate category,” Chronixx wrote, appearing to weigh in on the growing debate surrounding artificial intelligence in music.
His remarks come as the music industry continues to grapple with the role of AI-generated recordings and their eligibility for major awards, including the Grammys.
Several artist have also turned to AI for promotional material for their albums.
In the same post, Chronixx confirmed his representation by CAA, one of the world’s leading talent and entertainment agencies.
“Reggae music family should stop responding to weirdos on Gmail. Our agent is the big LD at CAA iykyk,” he wrote.
The announcement signals a significant development in the singer’s professional representation as he prepares for what appears to be a new phase of live performances.
Chronixx also encouraged fans to prepare for upcoming concerts featuring material from Exile.
“I also want the chronixx family to know that you should get your Exile concert outfit ready and learn the lyrics if you haven’t already,” he stated.
In a follow up post Chronixx announced the first Exile acoustic performance on October 17 at the House Of His Majesty in the UK.
Reflecting on the impact of Exile, released last year October, Chronixx expressed gratitude to the musicians and technical personnel involved in bringing the project to life.
“Exile changed my life!” he declared, describing the album as a soundtrack to important family experiences and moments of personal transformation.
He also thanked his family for their love and support, saying his heart was overflowing with gratitude.
The singer ended his message by urging supporters to pay attention to developments in the coming days, writing, “Watch the program over the coming days.”
Under the Recording Academy’s rules, works containing AI-generated elements may be eligible for Grammy consideration, but only human creators can receive Grammy awards, and the human contribution must be meaningful and relevant to the category.
