KINGSTON, JAMAICA — Fans have taken to social media demanding refunds and expressing disappointment following news that American rapper Cardi B has withdrawn from her scheduled performance at BZR WKND in Jamaica, just days before the festival.

The announcement, reported by World Music Views, sparked an immediate reaction online, with ticket holders questioning the status of their purchases and calling on festival organizers to provide answers.

Under the publication’s Instagram post, several fans tagged the festival’s official account, @bzrweekend, demanding clarity on refunds.

“I need my money back @bzrweekend 😢,” wrote Instagram user @cry_cry876.

Another user, @jessjjxn, questioned how quickly refunds would be processed, commenting, “@bzrweekend talk up quick re refunds, cuz how dat go?”

Similarly, @ms_.morgan._jm wrote, “@bzrweekend refund needed plssss,” while @sexytantan95 asked, “How my money going?”

The frustration was echoed by @aali, who demanded, “@bzrweekend how the refunds a go??”

Beyond the calls for refunds, some social media users began speculating about what led to the rapper’s withdrawal.

“Money didn’t DROP when it was supposed to. SIMPLE MATHS,” commented @kevinsbourke, suggesting that financial arrangements may have played a role. However, that allegation has not been independently verified.

Another user, @davis.shavoy, speculated, “Maybe poor ticket sales.”

Others expressed disbelief at the timing of the announcement.

“Seems like a lie tho because bzr would a post it lol,” wrote @chinawa22, questioning why the news had not come directly from festival organizers.

Meanwhile, @jayupscale, whose comment attracted considerable attention, wrote, “Damn!! Hope the promoter got insurance,” prompting mixed reactions from other users.

Some fans suggested that organizers should consider replacing Cardi B with Jamaican performers rather than allowing the cancellation to overshadow the event.

“Use our own just how yall can pay her use @spiceofficial @shenseea @mslegendary and let us have a good time,” wrote verified Instagram user @mr___reid.

The comment reflected calls from some fans for local entertainers to be given the opportunity to headline major events.

Another user, @zz.zim, questioned the decision to book an international superstar, writing, “She cyah compete wid republic lmao me sorry dem shoulda really think long and hard bout dis😭😭😭.”

World Music Views reached out to promoters of the festival and was told there is no statement at this time.
