FBI Director Kash Patel is engaged to country singer Alexis Wilkins after roughly three years of dating.
Wilkins, 27, announced the engagement Sunday on social media, sharing a black-and-white photo of herself alongside Patel, 46, while displaying a diamond engagement ring.
“Went and got the law involved,” she joked in the post.
Patel later shared the announcement with heart and diamond-ring emojis.
The couple reportedly met at a friend’s event in Nashville in 2022 and began dating in early 2023.
Wilkins has previously spoken publicly about what attracted her to Patel, praising his honesty, character and values while dismissing questions surrounding their 19-year age difference.
Their relationship has drawn increased public attention since Patel became FBI director in February 2025. Wilkins stood beside him during his swearing-in ceremony and has appeared at congressional hearings in support of him.
Wilkins is a country singer who released the EP “Grit” in 2023. She has also been involved in conservative media and served as a board member of the National Rifle Association.
The couple’s relationship has also figured into controversies surrounding Patel’s tenure at the FBI, including scrutiny of his use of government aircraft. Patel has said he is required to use government transportation for security reasons and that personal travel expenses are reimbursed.
Wilkins has separately pursued defamation litigation over allegations made about her relationship with Patel. She filed a $5 million lawsuit against former FBI agent and podcaster Kyle Seraphin after he allegedly characterized her as an Israeli “honeypot.” She has also sued MS Now over reporting concerning the use of her security detail.
The FBI previously said Wilkins received protective security after “hundreds of credible death threats” connected to her relationship with Patel.
Wilkins appeared publicly in support of Patel during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing last month, shortly before the couple announced their engagement.
