Drake appears to be continuing his boycott of the Grammy Awards, despite releasing three albums this year.

According to Billboard, the Toronto rapper’s previous major solo boycott of the Grammys lasted roughly two full album cycles—from late 2021 until late 2023—and reflected his long-running frustrations with the Recording Academy.

Timeline of Drake’s Grammy Boycott

  • Late 2021 — Withdrawal: Drake initially received two nominations for Certified Lover Boy at the 2022 Grammy Awards. However, he and his management later requested that both nominations be withdrawn from consideration.
  • 2022 — Withholding Honestly, Nevermind: Drake did not submit his 2022 solo album Honestly, Nevermind for consideration at the 2023 Grammy Awards, extending his boycott of the ceremony.
  • Late 2023 — Ending the Submission Boycott: Drake returned to Grammy consideration when Her Loss, his collaborative album with 21 Savage, was submitted for the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Now, after releasing three albums this year, Drake appears to once again be keeping his music out of Grammy consideration, signaling that his strained relationship with the Recording Academy continues.
