Supreme Ventures Executive Chairman Gary Peart has publicly challenged several government officials to explain why the company has not received support for its proposed $16 billion investment in Caymanas Park.
Peart made the remarks during the launch of dancehall artiste Masicka’s Forever 1NE Music Festival, in the presence of several government representatives, including Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport Olivia “Babsy” Grange.
Speaking candidly at the event, Peart revealed that Supreme Ventures is interested in acquiring Caymanas Park and undertaking a major investment to transform the property into a premier entertainment destination.
“We want to invest in Caymanas Park. We asked them to sell us the property,” Peart declared.
He then turned his attention directly to government officials, publicly calling on them to address the proposed investment.
“So tonight, I want to ask Babsy, who’s taking pictures. Babsy, I’m burning you out, I’m calling you out,” he said.
Peart also named government representatives and political figures, including Abka Fitz-Henley, Delano Seiveright and Member of Parliament for Portmore Orlando Terrelonge.
“I’m calling out Delano, who’s here tonight, and I’m calling out Orlando, who is the MP for Portmore. And I want them to tell you all why they will not support Supreme Ventures investing $16 billion into Caymanas Park,” he stated.
His remarks raised questions about the status of the proposed investment and the government’s position on the company’s interest in acquiring the property.
Peart Eyes Major Entertainment Investment
Explaining the vision behind the proposed $16 billion expenditure, Peart suggested that the investment could attract other major players in Jamaica’s entertainment industry, including businessman and music promoter Joe Bogdanovich.
“Why are we going to invest this money? If we invest this money, we believe we’ll be able to cause people like the great Joe Bogdanovich. Big up Joe. Big up Joe,” he said.
“We believe we can get Joe Bogdanovich to partner with us to invest in Caymanas,” he proclaims.
The Supreme Ventures executive expressed confidence in the property’s potential to become one of Jamaica’s leading entertainment venues, capable of accommodating major concerts, festivals and other large-scale events.
He pointed to Masicka’s upcoming Forever 1NE Music Festival as an opportunity to demonstrate what the venue can offer.
“Masicka is from Portmore. Masicka is going to show what Caymanas can do,” Peart said.
“Masicka is going to demonstrate that Caymanas is a preeminent entertainment space for any event in the country.”
Caymanas Park Open for Entertainment Events
Beyond the proposed investment, Peart announced that Supreme Ventures has outsourced the entertainment operations at Caymanas Park to Live and Direct, opening the door for promoters and organisers interested in staging events at the venue.
“If anybody wants to promote an event, whether weekly, whether monthly, whether annually, we have outsourced the entertainment side of Caymanas to Live N Direct,” he explained.
He encouraged interested promoters, churches, food vendors and other event organisers to explore the opportunities available at the property.
“If you’re interested in doing any event at Caymanas, whether it is a food truck, whether you want to have a church event, whether you want to have a party, reach out to Live N Direct, Cheryl Peart, and we will make it happen,” he said.
Masicka Festival to Showcase Caymanas Park
Peart closed his address by encouraging patrons to attend Masicka’s Forever 1NE Music Festival on December 19, promising that the event would offer a different perspective on Caymanas Park’s potential.
“We expect to see you December 19th, and on December 19th, you’re going to see a new facet of Caymanas Park,” he declared.
