Masicka’s new album Forever Reign is No. 1 on Apple Music in 12 countries, three days after its release, while its Kraff Gad collaboration “Honor Roll” has emerged as the project’s early breakout track.
The collaboration has climbed to No. 1 on Apple Music in five countries — Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
“Honor Roll” which does not have an official music video as yet is No. 1 trending YouTube in Jamaica and No. 2 on Deezer Jamaica.
Elsewhere on Apple Music, the song is No. 2 in the Cayman Islands and Guyana, No. 7 in Dominica, No. 10 in Gambia and No. 12 in Turks and Caicos. It has also charted in Anguilla, St. Lucia, Belize, Barbados, Seychelles, Trinidad and Tobago, Malawi and the British Virgin Islands.
The song’s early success comes as its parent album, Forever Reign, dominates Apple Music across several markets.
The album has reached No. 1 on Apple Music in 12 countries: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Gambia, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Beyond those 12 markets, Forever Reign sits at No. 2 in Belize, Malawi, Seychelles, Trinidad and Tobago, and Turks and Caicos, while reaching No. 3 in the British Virgin Islands.
The project is also registering outside the Caribbean, reaching No. 55 on Apple Music in Canada, No. 58 in the United Kingdom and No. 73 in the United States.
On iTunes, Forever Reign has reached No. 1 in four markets — the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Grenada and Saint Kitts and Nevis. More significantly for Masicka’s international footprint, the album has climbed to No. 9 on the US iTunes albums chart, as well as No. 10 in Canada.
The early chart activity adds to Masicka’s position as one of the leading artists of his generation in dancehall, while also providing another major moment for Kraff Gad.
With Forever Reign commanding album charts throughout the Caribbean and “Honor Roll” separating itself from the pack across song charts, the collaboration is shaping up to be the album’s first clear breakout.
