For the first time this year, Chronic Law is not Jamaica’s No. 1 artist on YouTube for the month, as Masicka surged ahead of the dancehall star to claim the top spot in August.
According to YouTube Charts data obtained by WMV for Jamaica covering August 3–30, 2026, Masicka generated 10.1 million views across his catalog, making him the most-viewed artist in the country during the 28-day period. Chronic Law finished at No. 2 with 9.17 million views.
The chart surge comes as Masicka’s third studio album, Forever Reign, continues to dominate Apple Music Jamaica, where it has remained at No. 1 since arriving on August 14.
Masicka finished the YouTube tracking period approximately 930,000 views ahead of Chronic Law, ending the latter’s seven months run at the top of Jamaica’s monthly YouTube rankings in 2026.
Masicka also had a strong presence on YouTube’s Jamaica songs chart during the period. His track “Honor Roll” ranked No. 4 among the top songs in Jamaica, generating 1.02 million views during the August 3–30 tracking period.
Chronic Law, despite being displaced from the top position, continued to demonstrate the strength of his local streaming audience. His 9.17 million views were enough to hold off rising dancehall act Skippa, who ranked No. 3 with 8.53 million views—just 640,000 behind Chronic Law.
Vybz Kartel was the fourth-most-viewed artist in Jamaica with 6.53 million views, while Malie Donn rounded out the top five with 6.13 million.
Squash followed at No. 6 with 5.55 million views, while Alkaline ranked seventh with 4.74 million. Popcaan came in at No. 8 with 3.87 million views.
Shaneil Muir was the highest-ranked female artist in the Top 15, placing ninth with 3.70 million views, while Merkz completed the Top 10 with 3.51 million.
The lower half of the Top 15 included Valiant, Notnice, Feloni19, Tommy Lee Sparta and DJ Mac.
Masicka’s rise to the top comes during a particularly active period in his career, with Forever Reign simultaneously leading Apple Music Jamaica and his catalog attracting the largest YouTube audience in the country during the latest 28-day period.
The results also highlight the highly competitive nature of Jamaica’s digital music market. Fewer than one million views separated Masicka and Chronic Law, while the top three artists—Masicka, Chronic Law and Skippa—each accumulated more than eight million views.
