Masicka’s ‘438’ Secures the 5th Spot On Spotify’s Most Streamed Albums in Jamaica for 2023

Masicka by Andre ‘Drevinci’ Jones.

It seems Jamaicans are listening mostly to albums by North American acts rather than local artists based on the Spotify Wrapped Data supplied exclusively to WMV by the streaming company. Masicka‘s “438” being the exception, is Spotify’s No. 5 most streamed album in Jamaica in 2023 (Down from No. 1 last year.) He is the only Jamaican artist with an album on Spotify’s Top Albums in Jamaica this year despite the album being released December 2021. SZA‘s  “SOS” is the Spotify’s No. 1 most streamed album in Jamaica for 2023.

The other albums to make Spotify Jamaica Top Albums chart are:

  • Metro Boomin – “HEROES & VILLAINS”
  • The Weeknd – “Starboy”
  • Burna Boy – “Love, Damini”
  • Masicka – “438”
  • Nicki Minaj – “Queen Radio: Volume 1”
  • SZA – “Ctrl”
  • Ahbentlee – “Self Efficacy”
  • Drake – “Her Loss”
  • Drake – “Certified Lover Boy”

Elsewhere it looks like Bad Bunny continues to dominate the global music scene, securing the title of Spotify’s most streamed album globally for the second consecutive year with “Un Verano Sin Ti.” Despite the album not being a new release in 2023, it has accumulated an impressive 4.5 billion plays on the platform.
