Dancehall star Masicka’s third studio album, Forever Reign, is the highest-charting reggae project among the 119 albums submitted for Best Reggae Album consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards.

The Def Jam Recordings project debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, recording the highest first-week sales and streaming consumption of any album in this year’s Grammy submission field.

According to data obtained exclusively by World Music Views from Billboard sales tracker Luminate, Forever Reign opened with 4,015 total album-equivalent units in the United States during its first week of release.

The album spent two consecutive weeks on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, joining Buju Banton’s Too Too Bad as the only dancehall albums released in 2026 to achieve multiple weeks on the chart.

By its second week, Forever Reign had accumulated approximately 8,800 total album consumption units in the United States, while global album consumption reached an estimated 16,100 units.

The project has also surpassed 60 million streams worldwide, underscoring Masicka’s growing international reach and the album’s sustained digital performance.

On Apple Music, Forever Reign has maintained the No. 1 position on Jamaica’s albums chart since its release. It has also held the top spot among dancehall albums on Apple Music in the United States over the same period.

The commercial performance places Forever Reign at the forefront of this year’s Best Reggae Album Grammy contenders by chart position and first-week consumption, further strengthening Masicka’s standing as one of dancehall’s leading contemporary artists.

While commercial performance does not determine Grammy nominations or winners, the album’s Billboard debut, streaming figures and chart longevity distinguish it among the projects submitted for consideration at the 2027 ceremony.

First round voting for the Grammy Awards ends on October 22, 2926.
