The first single from the album is the ride or die themed song “Next To Me” featuring Miss World Toni-Ann Singh with whom Popcaan has been cuddling up since last summer. The two performed the No. 1 Reggae iTunes hit at Burna Boy’s Love, Damini Jamaica stop in December and shared an onstage lip lock to the delight of the over 20 thousand people in attendance.
Cobe revealed in July that Burna Boy as well as Black Sheriff will be on Popcaan’s album as he returns the favor for Popcaan’s feature on his album.
A few months ago Popcaan was seen online vibing to the track by Black Sheriff in his drop top Rang Rover Evoque.
Meanwhile Popcaan’s feature on Burna Boy’s Gold selling Love, Damini album T.A.S. (Toni-Ann Singh), debuted on the US Afrobeats chart at No. 12 made it to No. 47 on the U.S. Afrobeats Year-End Chart.
“Cobe” Smith who is also the producer of T.A.S along with Anju Blaxx, told WMV at the time of the song’s debut that: “It is originally a Popcaan song but we were in some business with Burna Boy to get a feature so we did a swap.”
“Popcaan on Burna’s album will open up doors, the world a look pon Burna right now. Popcaan being one of the leader of Dancehall and Burna being one of the leaders of Afrobeats is a good collab. Which is one of the reasons we held off on the album, anywhere between November towards December Africa turn up,” he continued.
Cobe also revealed exclusively to WMV that Popcaan will be having four album launches for “Great Is He” within a few weeks starting in Jamaica on January 19th then Canada, London and in Ghana.
