Sean P. Diddy Combs issues apology after damning video released by CNN on Friday showing him physically abusing ex-girlfriend Cassie in 2016.

The Bad Boy label owner took to instagram on Sunday to express regret for his actions that has made headlines news across the world 9 years after the incident occurred in a Los Angeles Hotel. “Its so difficult to reject on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you gotta do that, I was fu*cked up, I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses, My behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full reposnsoiblity for my actions in that video. I am disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it and I am disgusted now. I went and I sought out passional help. I had to go into therapy, go into rehab and ask God for his mercy and grace. I am so sorry but I am committed to being a better man each and every day, I am not asking for forgiveness. I am truly sorry,” he said.

The surveillance footage from March 5, 2016, shows Combs grabbing, shoving, dragging, and kicking Ventura in the hallway of the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles. Ventura, who settled her lawsuit with Combs, did not comment on the video. Her attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, praised her bravery in coming forward.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and the LAPD have acknowledged the video but noted that the statute of limitations for prosecuting the 2016 assault has expired. No active investigation is currently underway.

Ventura’s lawsuit against Combs included allegations of repeated physical and sexual abuse during their relationship from 2007 to 2018. Combs has denied these allegations, and the lawsuit was resolved with an undisclosed settlement the day after it was filed. Combs’ attorney emphasized that settling the lawsuit was not an admission of wrongdoing.

Combs is also facing several other civil lawsuits alleging various forms of misconduct, which he has denied. A federal investigation involving searches of his properties in California and Florida is ongoing, related to accusations of sexual assault.
