Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt is engaged to his longtime partner, Kasi Bennett, marking a new chapter for one of Jamaica’s most recognizable couples.
Bolt reportedly popped the question during his birthday celebration on the rooftop of One Belmont in Kingston, presenting Bennett with a stunning five-carat engagement ring.
The proposal comes after more than a decade together for Bolt and Bennett, a Jamaican model, entrepreneur and philanthropist who has remained by the retired track superstar’s side throughout much of his historic career and life after athletics.
More Than a Decade Together
Bolt and Bennett began dating around 2013 and initially kept their relationship largely out of the public eye.
Their romance became public during the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, where Bennett openly supported Bolt as he completed another extraordinary Olympic campaign.
Since then, the couple has become one of Jamaica’s best-known celebrity pairings, sharing glimpses of their relationship and family life while generally keeping much of their private life away from the spotlight.
The engagement represents a significant milestone for the couple after years of speculation about whether the eight-time Olympic gold medalist would eventually marry his longtime partner.
Bolt and Bennett are also parents to three children.
Their daughter, Olympia Lightning Bolt, was born in 2020. The family grew again in 2021 with the arrival of twin boys Thunder Bolt and Saint Leo Bolt.
