Bad Bunny’s Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show has won seven 2026 Emmy awards. The recognition celebrates not only the star power at the center of the performance, but also the large creative and technical team responsible for bringing one of television’s biggest live spectacles to life.
The halftime show was honored for Outstanding Music Direction; Outstanding Variety Special (Live); Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special; Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction for a Special; Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming; Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special; and Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a Special.
A Super Bowl halftime performance has to combine live music, choreography, lighting, sound, staging and camera work under extraordinary time pressure, with millions of viewers watching.
Bad Bunny Halftime Show had paid homage to Jamaica and the Americas at the Levi’s Stadium on Sunday February 8, 2026. It was the second time the Super Bowl was held at the stadium after Super Bowl 50. The Puerto Rican superstar delivered what was dubbed love letter to his home country in one of the most culturally unifying moments in recent Super Bowl halftime history, closing his performance with a message that stretched across the Americas and the Caribbean.
He declared in his all Spanish set:
“God bless America: Canada, United States, Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Bahamas, Barbados, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela. The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”
The epic 13 minute halftime show was packed with surprises. Lady Gaga made a special appearance to perform “Die With A Smile,” Karol G and Cardi B also appears as dancers in the “La Casita” segment of Bad Bunny’s set, adding extra star power and high-energy choreography. Other surprises came by way of actor Pedro Pascal and Jessica Alba.
