Port Antonio’s Geejam has once again earned a MICHELIN Key, marking the second consecutive year the celebrated Jamaican hotel has received the distinction.

Awarded by the MICHELIN Guide, best known globally for its restaurant Stars, MICHELIN Keys recognise hotels that offer exceptional stays and distinctive hospitality. A One MICHELIN Key distinction denotes “a very special stay,” recognising properties that stand out for their character, quality and sense of place.

For Geejam, tucked between the lush rainforest and Caribbean Sea in Port Antonio, the recognition reflects an approach to luxury that has always been distinctly its own.

Blending Jamaican culture, music, design and laid-back hospitality, the property has built an international reputation without losing the intimate atmosphere that has become central to the Geejam experience.

The team celebrated the latest recognition by paying tribute to the people behind that experience — from the staff who welcome guests to the returning visitors and newcomers who quickly become part of the Geejam community.

“This means a lot to us. Because so much of what makes Geejam special comes down to the people here and that includes you,” the hotel said in announcing the award.

Receiving a MICHELIN Key for a second year further places Geejam among the Jamaican properties gaining international recognition for hospitality experiences rooted in a strong sense of place.
