The Spanish-language collaboration surges to the summit of both worldwide rankings with 42.3 million streams.
Karol G, Judeline and rusowsky have scored the biggest song in the world as “BbY WOW” rises to No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts.
The collaboration which samples the Coolie Dance Riddim generated 42.3 million streams worldwide during the Aug. 28-Sept. 3 tracking period—an increase of 62% from the previous week—according to Luminate. It also sold 1,000 downloads globally, up 60%.
It is Karol G’s second No. 1 hit and the highest charting song that has sampled the “Coolie Dance Riddim.”
Jamaican producer Cordel “Skatta” Burrell’s 2003 “Coolie Dance Riddim” was first recorded by Sean Paul, Elephant Man, Bounty Killer and Ce’Cile before reaching mainstream audiences through Nina Sky and Jabba’s “Move Ya Body,” Pitbull and Lil Jon’s “Culo,” an Ivy Queen remix, and Lumidee and Fatman Scoop’s “Dance!,” which sampled Whitney Houston.
The riddim was later used by Angel y Khriz, Jr Ranks, Ms Nina, Cruzzi, Kehlani, Sefo and Demet Akalın, Lvbel C5 as well as DYSTINCT, Amr Diab, Dana Salah and Elyanna.
It is simultaneously enjoying chart success in the UK with HUGEL and SOLTO—with Sister Nancy’s “Bam Bam” which made Spotify’s Song Of The Summer list.
“BbY WOW” climbs to No. 16 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 after four weeks on the chart.
Outside the United States, “BbY WOW” registered 30.7 million streams, representing a 72% week-over-week increase.
The track jumps from No. 5 to No. 1 in its fourth week on the Global 200 and rockets 10-1 in its third week on Global Excl. U.S.
It gives Colombian superstar Karol G her second leader on both charts. She previously topped the rankings in March 2023 with “TQG,” her collaboration with Shakira. Spanish artists Judeline and rusowsky each earn their first global No. 1.
“BbY WOW” also becomes the first predominantly Spanish-language song to lead the global charts since Bad Bunny’s “DtMF” ended its run at No. 1 in March.
The song replaces Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai (FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026)” at the summit. “Dai Dai” previously spent seven weeks atop the Global 200 and 10 weeks at No. 1 on Global Excl. U.S.
Elsewhere, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” remains at its No. 2 peak on the Global 200, while “Dai Dai” falls to No. 3. On Global Excl. U.S., the Shakira and Burna Boy collaboration slips to second place.
Billboard’s Global 200 measures streaming and sales activity across more than 200 territories, including the United States. The Global Excl. U.S. chart uses the same methodology but removes American consumption data.
Both rankings are calculated using a weighted formula covering official streams from subscription and ad-supported audio and video platforms, along with download purchases from full-service digital music retailers. Direct-to-consumer sales are not included.
